The Light of Peace from Bethlehem is an ecumenical Scout event that takes place every year during the Advent season.
Lit in the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the light was brought to Austria on December 6, 2025, and then shared throughout Europe. It arrived in Sèvres on December 14.
This light is an opportunity to take action for a more fraternal world. For this reason, the Caravels and Pioneers of the Scout group decided to organize a cake sale and hot chocolate stand at the markets of Sèvres and Ville d’Avray. They chose to support the association Marie Notre Étoile and the cause of childhood cancer, following a proposal by Alice.
A morning of encounters with local residents, who offered them a warm welcome. Smiles, joy, and even an unexpected encounter with an iconic figure in his bright red outfit and white beard added an extra touch of magic to this good deed.
We would like to thank the Caravels and Pioneers, their leaders Eloise, Pénélope and Adrien, the town halls of Sèvres and Ville d’Avray, as well as the market organizers of both markets.
